Key Considerations

Terminal Size Matching

Skar Audio specifies power and ground terminal sizes in each amplifier's product description. These are determined based on the amp's power handling capabilities.

Material Matters

Not all wiring kits are the same because they are the same size in gauge. Different materials allow for different power handling. Skar Audio offers both Copper-Clad Aluminum (CCA) and Oxygen Free Copper (OFC) options.

Amplifier Terminals RMS Power Recommended Kit
RP-2000.1D 0 Gauge 2000W 1/0 Gauge CCA or OFC
SKv2-2500.1D 0 Gauge 2500W 1/0 Gauge OFC only

The difference: SKAR0ANL-CCA handles 2000W, while SKAR0ANL-OFC handles 3000W. Since the SKv2-2500 requires more power capacity, only the OFC kit qualifies.

Upgrading to Larger Gauge

It's acceptable to use larger gauge wire than terminal specifications require, which benefits future upgrades.

Important: Never reduce wire size by cutting strands. Instead, use wire reducers to get to the proper size for your terminal and keep your setup safe.
